This Girl’s Top 5 Feel Good Movies

We all have our days where we’d just like to come home from work, sit back, and enjoy a good movie. Maybe you’ve had a rough day with your boss? Or maybe your work load was more then expected? At any rate, the first thing you want to do is clear your head and forget. What better way to accomplish that then to find a flick? This Girl has decided to compile a list of her Top 5 favourite feel good movies to watch when she’s had a bad day.

1. Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993)

Feel Good Movies

Homeward Bound is a story of friendship. Two dogs (Chance and Shadow) and a cat (Sassy) are left behind by their owners during a vacation. Alone, and committed to finding their family, the trio travel across the country to be reunited with their people. Some moments are a bit intense with Sassy, but the ending makes up for it all. This Girl was in (happy) tears being the animal lover that she is.

2. Pitch Perfect (2012)

Feel Good Movies

Comedy is always great medicine for the blues. Pitch Perfect brings that along with a story of friendship. This movie may be better suited for the girls, but some guy might enjoy it too (This Girl doesn’t judge!). Pitch Perfect is a story following an all-girl a cappella group, The Barden Bellas, as they compete in the National A Capella competition. The camaraderie and comedy all its own is sure to put a smile on your face.

3. Forrest Gump (1994)

Feel Good Movies

Another comedic, heartwarming movie. Forrest Gump is a simple-minded man from Alabama. He may not have the highest IQ but he has the kindest heart you could find. Throughout the movie you see him get by in life with mostly luck, and what his mama has taught him. After an hour, Forrest Gump just makes you want to give him a hug for how sweet he is.

4. Madea Goes to Jail (2009)

Feel Good Movies

Tyler Perry struck gold when he created the character Mabel Simmons. Throughout each of his movies playing the character it’s sure to give you a chuckle. This comedy may not be for everyone. For this Girl, it’s a good laugh every time. Madea is an independent African-American woman who does what she believes to be right no matter what the laws of it are. In this particular outing, Madea finds herself in jail with some very interesting characters that just add to the hilarity.

5. Furious 7 (2015)

Feel Good Movies

The Fast & Furious saga has come a long way since it first began. Acquiring more and more fans with each instalment. Furious 7 was no different. After the tragic death of actor Paul Walker, Furious 7 hit theatres with a bang. The movie itself involves fast cars, lots of action, and best of all the sense of family. From beginning to end it’s sure to bring out all of your emotions to wipe the slate clean. This Girl does recommend watching the first few to get a since of the main characters and just what it’s about.

We at ThisGuyWrites.com hope that this list helps you on a day you’re feeling sad or down!
