Cable

First Look at Josh Brolin as Cable!

He’s the man out of time!

You remember that scene in Terminator 2 when Arnie rips the skin off his arm, exposing the creepy, mechanical cyborg arm underneath? You ever wish you could have a movie hero who just looked like that all the time? Well you’re in luck!

Earlier this week Fox gave fans a first glance at Josh Brolin, all geared up for his new role in Deadpool 2 as Cable! Now, some of you are saying, “Guy, who the hell is Cable? Why do I care? What about those of us who are lactose intolerant?” Cable, aka Nathan Summers, is a time traveling mutant from the future. He’s got a cyborg arm, a fancy mechanical eye, big guns, and he kicks ass through time and space on the regular. He and Deadpool have also shared some of their best adventures together. Awwwww.

A few days ago, Brolin posted a full body pic to his Instagram, offering a pretty sweet deal for those with any pesky cadavers laying around. And he looks pretty damn badass. He’s got the arm, the eye, the grizzled look, and the overall aura that just screams “I will demolish you and everyone you love if you touch this teddy bear on my belt.”

Now, why is that teddy bear there? This Guy doesn’t know. But he’s excited. What matters is that Brolin fits the role to a tee. He oozes the silent stoicism of Cable’s comic and cartoon persona, and has always been a tremendous straight man in comedies (Men In Black 3, Inherent Vice, etc). Now, imagine that tough son of a bitch opposite Ryan Reynolds. It’s gold. Solid gold.

Now, This Guy was hyped enough for Deadpool 2 before Cable was cast, but this is honestly shaping up to be a worthy follow up to the R-rated superhero romp that showed us Reynolds was born to play the Merc with the Mouth, if not his Origins sewn-faced counterpart. This casting has the potential to be just that pitch perfect, and fans of Deadpool and X-Men should come out in droves to show their support. Brolin might need it, as he’s now pulling double duty as Cable, as well as Avengers nemesis Thanos.

This Guy

Who likes movies? This Guy! Who has way too much to say, and lacks the mental focus, or appropriate filters necessary to express himself in an acceptable fashion? This guy! Oh, and something about two thumbs.
